"Als jongeren een eerste psychose doormaken, is het niet altijd duidelijk in welk diagnostisch kader de psychose uiteindelijk terecht zal komen. Soms blijft het bij een eenmalige, kortdurende psychotische stoornis, soms ook ontwikkelt zich een schizofrene of bipolaire stoornis. De zorgvraag en -behoefte van jeugdigen en jongvolwassenen met een (eerste) psychose kent echter één grote gemene deler, ongeacht de aard van de psychose: bij de behandeling moet niet alleen rekening worden gehouden met het ziektebeeld, maar ook met de levensfase waarin de betrokkene verkeert. Vaak wonen de jongeren nog bij hun ouders, gaan naar school en hebben te kampen met specifieke ontwikkelingstaken. Daarom zal er expliciet aandacht moeten worden besteed aan de begeleiding van de ouders, de stagnatie in het functioneren op school en de invloed van de psychose op de psychosociale ontwikkeling van de jongere. In de zorglijn Jongeren met Psychotische Stoornissen – een neerslag van de klinische ervaring en het gedachtegoed van medewerkers van de afdeling jeugdpsychiatrie van het Universitair Medisch Centrum Utrecht (UMCU) – worden deze aspecten concreet vorm gegeven, zowel in de beschreven modulen als in de algemene richtlijnen. In this book Claudia Frank discusses how Melanie Klein began to develop her psychoanalysis of children. Melanie Klein in Berlin: Her First Psychoanalyses of Children offers a detailed comparative analysis of both published and unpublished material from the Melanie Klein Archives.
